Resize and crop a photo exactly

Give a photo the exact size a form, a website or a print asks for: in pixels, percent, millimetres, centimetres or inches at any DPI — or pick a ready-made size. Crop to a shape, straighten, and save it under a file size if the form asks for “less than 100 KB”.

Crop and straighten

Crop freely or to a shape — square, 4:5, 3:4, 2:3, 9:16, 16:9, 3:2, 4:3 or the original — and drag the corners or move the frame. Turn the photo, mirror it, or straighten a crooked horizon; the crop always stays inside the photo, so no empty corners appear. Smart crop finds the face and places it nicely in the frame.

Resize

Type the width or the height in px, %, mm, cm or in; with the lock closed the other side follows. The print resolution (DPI) is written into JPG and PNG files, so a photo set to 35 mm at 300 DPI is 413 px wide and prints at that size.

Under a file size

Many forms want a photo under a size. In Export choose “File size” and type the largest size in KB, or pick 20, 50, 100, 200, 500 KB, 1 MB or 2 MB: the highest quality that fits is used, and a very small target also makes the picture smaller. A minimum size can be set too.

Questions

Does resizing change my original photo?

No. Every export is a new file; the original is never changed, and your edits can be undone at any time.

What DPI should I use?

300 DPI for prints and photo forms that give a size in mm or inches; DPI does not matter for screens and websites, where only the pixels count.

Can I make a photo larger?

Yes, but a plain enlargement gets softer. Improve Quality (in AI Tools) enlarges 2× or 4× with AI and keeps it sharper.

How do I get an exact size without stretching?

Choose a ready-made size or unlock the proportions and press “Crop to this shape”: the photo is cropped to the new shape first, so nothing is stretched.

Are photo details kept?

By default the camera details and GPS location are removed; you can keep the date and camera (never the location) when exporting a JPG.

Is it free?

Yes, free and with no sign-up.
